šŸ’»šŸŒ± Rams Rising | April Edition
Theme/Focus: Digital Wellness & Healthy Technology Use
Technology is a big part of our students’ daily lives—for learning, connection, and entertainment. While it offers many benefits, it’s important to help children and teens developĀ healthy, balanced habits with screens and technology.

šŸ“± Practical Tips for Families
1. Create Balanced Screen Time Habits
  • šŸ“µ Set daily ā€œno phoneā€ times (meals, bedtime, family time)
  • šŸ›ļø Keep devices out of bedrooms at night
  • 🌳 Encourage at least 30 minutes of outdoor time daily
2. Prioritize Real-Life Connection
  • šŸ‘„ Encourage face-to-face conversations each day
  • ā˜• Spend intentional time together as a family
  • šŸ’¬ Remind kids that online interactions are not the same as real relationships
3. Talk About Online Safety & Behavior
  • 🚫 ā€œIf it wouldn’t be okay in person, it’s not okay onlineā€
  • šŸ“¢ Encourage students to report cyberbullying to a trusted adult
  • 🧠 Discuss how social media can impact mood, confidence, and self-esteem
4. Be Aware of Technology Risks
  • āš ļø Excessive screen time can impact attention, memory, and problem-solving skills
  • šŸ¤– AI chatbots are not a replacement for real emotional support
  • šŸ“‰ Social media can sometimes increase anxiety, isolation, or fear of missing out (FOMO)

🌟 Why It Matters
Finding a healthy balance with technology helps students:
  • Improve focus and academic performance
  • Strengthen real-life relationships
  • Build emotional awareness and resilience
  • Protect their overall mental health
Technology can be a powerful tool when used intentionally—but balance is key.

šŸ’› Encouragement & Invitation
You don’t have to eliminate technology—just guide it. Small changes like setting boundaries, modeling healthy habits, and staying involved in your child’s digital world can make a big difference.
✨ Progress over perfection
✨ Connection over screens
✨ Balance over restriction
