  • MWISD offers numerous academic and athletic extra-curricular activities. Service organizations, clubs, and academic contests provide for a well-rounded school experience.
  • Junior high and senior high students participate in competitive academics and sports governed by the University Interscholastic League (UIL).
  • Mineral Wells ISD Libraries are the heart of the campus. Their mission is to create student-centered libraries that provide a welcoming environment, encourage collaboration and creativity, promote literacy, and inspire a love of learning that lasts a lifetime.

District

  • The Mineral Wells Independent School District is committed to excellence. Academic achievement is the top priority for MWISD’s 3,346 students. It is truly a place where the needs of the students come first.

Facilities and Staff

  • The children of this historic community attend three elementary schools, one junior high, and one high school (4A). The district also has the Mineral Wells Academy, a well-established alternative education center. A total district staff of 509 provides a quality education for students. Each campus has counselors, campus nurses, librarians, Teacher Academic Leaders, and technology specialists are an important part of this team.

Technology

  • The vision of the technology department at Mineral Wells ISD is to: Improve student engagment and outcomes through the provision and support of equitable and innovative technology. Mineral Wells ISD is a 1:1 school district where each PK-12 student has access to a computing device for engaging instruction. Our junior high and high school students can take a device (Chromebook) home each day, further extending their educational opportunities. We are continually improving and upgrading our classroom and common area presentation technologies, often incorporating wireless screen casting and/or interactive features, which contributes to an enriched learning environment.

Networking with Universities

  • The school district reaches beyond its boundaries by working with Tarleton State University and Weatherford College in various programs to bring dual credit classes and professional development opportunities to MWISD.

Programs

  • Many innovative, challenging and varied programs are offered throughout the district to meet student needs and promote academic achievement. Academically gifted students in grades K-12 are accelerated programs to meet their needs. We have great fine arts and athletic programs. Ram Stadium has seating for over 7,000. Our core curriculum utilizes the TXResource System to provide a vertically aligned backbone for instruction. The high school has an extensive selection of technical and certification programs varying from auto mechanics, computer technology, career, agriculture, and culinary arts. The campus offers challenging advanced placement classes.
