Instructional Resources

At Mineral Wells Independent School District (MWISD), we are committed to providing high-quality instructional resources to our students and educators. Our aim is to create a conducive learning environment that fosters academic excellence and supports the diverse needs of our students. Here are some of the instructional resources we use:

  1. Curricular Materials: We adopt state-approved curricula that align with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) standards. These materials are carefully selected to ensure they are age-appropriate, engaging, and promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  2. Textbooks and Digital Resources: We provide students with both traditional textbooks and access to a variety of digital resources. These digital materials include e-books, interactive learning platforms, and educational software that enrich the learning experience.

  3. Online Learning Platforms: MWISD utilizes various online learning platforms to support blended learning and provide additional resources for students and teachers. These platforms may include learning management systems, educational apps, and web-based tools that enhance classroom instruction.

  4. Library Resources: Our school libraries are well-stocked with a wide range of books, reference materials, and digital resources to encourage reading and research. Our certified librarians play a crucial role in guiding students to find relevant and reliable information.

  5. Educational Software and Applications: We integrate educational software and applications that offer interactive learning experiences, promote skill-building, and cater to individual learning styles. These tools often provide real-time feedback to track student progress.

  6. Hands-on Materials: In subjects like science, mathematics, and arts, we use hands-on materials and manipulatives to enhance understanding and provide tangible learning experiences.

  7. Professional Development: We invest in ongoing professional development for our teachers to ensure they are well-equipped to effectively use instructional resources and employ best practices in the classroom.

  8. Community Resources: MWISD collaborates with the local community and external organizations to offer additional resources, such as guest speakers, field trips, and extracurricular activities, to enrich students' learning experiences.

  9. Special Education Resources: For students with special needs, we provide tailored instructional resources, assistive technology, and support services to ensure inclusivity and academic progress.

  10. Parental Involvement: We encourage parents and guardians to actively participate in their child's education and provide them with resources to support learning at home. This may include parent workshops, online resources, and communication platforms to stay informed about their child's progress.

At MWISD, our commitment to continuous improvement ensures that we regularly assess and update our instructional resources to meet the evolving needs of our students and maintain a high standard of education. Together with our dedicated educators, engaged parents, and supportive community, we strive to empower every student with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in the future.
