Mineral Wells ISD Adopts Nine-Week Grading System for 2024-2025 School Year
the traditional six-week grading period is designed to enhance educational opportunities and support student success.
By extending the grading period, teachers will have the flexibility to implement a variety of assessment practices, such as constructed responses, problem-based learning, and other innovative methods that align with our learner profile. This approach aims to provide a more comprehensive evaluation of student performance and understanding.
The new nine-week grading system will also benefit instructional time. Teachers will have additional time during class to cover material in their lessons more thoroughly. Moreover, the extended period will allow for increased intervention time, providing extra support for students who may need additional assistance.
Parents and community members can view the 2024-2025 MWISD Calendar on the district’s website for more information on important dates and events throughout the school year.
Mineral Wells ISD is dedicated to fostering an environment where students can thrive academically and personally. The transition to a nine-week grading system is a step towards achieving this goal, ensuring that every student is given the tools and time needed to succeed.
