Important Update: Anonymous Safety Reporting Systems

Posted Date: 12/18/25 (04:00 PM)

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Staff,

We would like to share several important updates regarding Mineral Wells ISD’s safety and security reporting systems.

Following recent changes to state-required safety programs, the district conducted a review of our current reporting tools and identified areas of duplication. To ensure clarity and efficiency for students, families, staff, and community members, the P3 Anonymous Reporting System will be discontinued effective January 1.

Mineral Wells ISD will continue to utilize StayALERT, our long-standing anonymous reporting platform. StayALERT is monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week, by live, on-duty managers and provides confidential, bilingual reporting options. It allows students, staff, families, and community members to report concerns related to school safety or student well-being.

We would also like to highlight iWatchTexas, a statewide reporting system supported by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS). iWatchTexas provides a confidential way to report concerns related to potential threats against any school, student, or faculty member in Texas.

Because these two programs may appear similar, the table below outlines their primary purposes:

Feature StayALERT iWatchTexas
Oversight School District Texas Department of Public Safety
Report Review District Administrators Law Enforcement Analysts
Report Types Bullying, vandalism, substance abuse, self-harm, and general school or community concerns   Suspicious or criminal activity, threats, weapons, potential violence
Who Can Use It    Students, staff, families, and community members within our district Anyone in Texas
When to Use Non-emergency, school-level concerns Serious threats requiring law-enforcement involvement

Brochures for both programs are included for your reference. This information will continue to be shared biannually with all district stakeholders.

The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority. Thank you for your continued partnership and support in helping us maintain a safe learning environment for all.

Sincerely,

David Wells
