Mineral Wells ISD Hosts 41st Annual Veterans Day of Recognition
This cherished event provides a meaningful occasion for young people and citizens alike to express gratitude to the men and women who have served our nation, both at home and overseas.
A tradition-rich program, the Veterans Day event will feature students from each MWISD campus in special performances, celebrating the spirit of service and sacrifice. The event will also showcase choirs from three different campuses and a time-honored parachute team display, performances from cheer and Wranglerettes, and the Lamar Little Troopers, bringing excitement and reverence to the ceremony. Weather permitting, attendees will enjoy a military aircraft flyover and a presentation of colors by the Civil Air Patrol.
This year, we are honored to welcome guest speaker Lieutenant Colonel Archie Wilmer III, Ph.D. (U.S. Army, ret.), a Mineral Wells native and distinguished West Point graduate. Dr. Wilmer, whose life journey has been one of resilience and dedication, served both as a soldier and a professor at West Point, where he earned his doctorate in mathematics. His inspiring story will be shared at this year’s program, adding depth and personal connection to the ceremony.
Attendees are encouraged to arrive by 10:30 a.m. to enjoy the pre-ceremony events and be prepared for the official program start at 11:00 a.m. The event is open to the public, and admission is free. Join us as we pay tribute to those who have courageously served to protect our freedom.
